Picture this, you set up a shop on the High Street to showcase your products and services. You've taken the time and worked hard to build a customer base. One day, someone who runs another business walks into your shop, leaves a pile of leaflets on your counter and walks out without even introducing themselves. Pretty rude you're thinking?
So why are people doing this on Facebook?
Setting up Facebook pages and simply going to other pages, ones that aren't even related to their business and simply posting a link to their own page. No introduction, no explanation as to why they are doing it, just hoping that you and your Facebook fan base will see their post and like their page.

There is an element here where some of you reading this will think that it is polite just to like their page, but surely this would just fill your newsfeed with things you're simply not interested in? What if you have no interest in the business?
I'm not saying for one minute that you shouldn't network with other pages to help each other build likes, I'm simply pointing out that if you are going to post on other pages:
- Do it with a purpose in mind
- Think about how you could work together to mutually help each other
- Be nice, introduce yourself and explain why you need help and how you could help them?
- Avoid copy and paste messages, people can see these a mile off - it doesn't look professional
- Consider whether the business you're attempting to network with has synergy with your own
And remember, if you are planning on posting on other pages, the page admin has every right to mark your post as spam which could result in Facebook putting restrictions on your account! You wouldn't want that now would you!!
